How come a lot of the ads I see on my computer are about Vimax, a penis-enlargement pill?

penis enlargement pill August 19th, 2009

Is anyone else getting these or is it just me?

It seems just fate, but most guys get bust-enhancement ads. Or maybe it’s just me. :)

Seriously, though, it costs the same to email one ad or 10,000 ads, so the spammers send millions a day, hoping to get a couple of people a day to buy – anything. Tea tree oil, acacia berries, Viagra, you name it, if it can be sold, they spam it. The odds are terrible, but when the cost is nothing, the return is fantastic. (A $10 return on a zero investment is an infinite return.)

Get a better email program – one with a Bayesian filter (Popmail is a great filter for any POP3 email program) – and train it. After a couple of months you’ll stop seeing garbage like that. It’s like automatically throwing out any mail that has a 12 cent bulk mail stamp on it.
